- Sept. 6: Overview of the nine essential skills.
- Sept. 7: Practical application of essential skills.
Day 4: Simulation and Review
- Sept. 8: Essential skills simulation or group activity.
Week 2: Essential Skills Simulation and Transferability
Days 5-6: Simulation Continuation and Application
- Sept. 11: Debriefing session and review of skills simulation.
- Sept. 12: Application of essential skills in simulated workplace settings.
- Group discussion on challenges and successes.
Days 7-9: Transferability and Review
- Sept. 13: Exploration of the transferability of essential skills.
- Sept. 14: Review of essential skills covered during the week.
- Sept. 15: Assessment or quiz to gauge understanding.
Week 3: Literacy and Numeracy Strategies
Days 10-11: Literacy Strategies
- Sept. 18: Strategies for reading and interpreting text.
- Sept. 19: Strategies for writing text with or without a computer.
Days 12-13: Numeracy Strategies
- Sept. 20: Identification and application of numeracy strategies.
- Sept. 21: Assessment or activity for grading.

Week 4: Learning and Thinking Strategies
Days 15-16: Reflecting and Learning Styles
- Sept. 25: Process for reflecting on experiences.
- Sept. 26: Identification of preferred learning styles and developing effective learning strategies.
Days 18-19: Decision-Making and Problem-Solving
- Sept. 27: Strategies for remembering and decision-making.
- Sept. 28: Introduction to problem-solving processes and applications.
Day 20 (Sept. 29): Assessment, Documentation, and Reflection
- Assessment of students’ use of selected workplace essential skills.
- Documentation of development using the Ontario Skills Passport.
- Review and reflection on the month’s learning.
